An individual came face to face with an armed robber yesterday at his home in Kagman.

The victim had gone home when he saw that the door to his home had been damaged. When he went inside, that’s when he saw the perpetrator, who appeared armed with a knife. The victim picked up an unspecified weapon, prompting the perpetrator to flee on foot.

The perpetrator was described as wearing a black shirt and a pair of black shorts, plus a cap. The victim said the perpetrator also had tattoos on his arms and was carrying a grey Nike duffle bag.

The victim called the Department of Public Safety to report the incident. Officers arrived at the scene and canvassed the area in search of the perpetrator. “I am lucky to have walked away with my life,” the victim said.

DPS spokesperson Adrian Pangelinan could not provide more details about the case as offices were closed due to Tropical Storm Kammuri, but said the case is ongoing.

If you have any information about this case, call 911 or call the CNMI Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at (670) 234-7272.
