The American Red Cross-NMI Chapter is launching a Hands Only CPR initiative. The goal is to train 1,000 individuals over the next six months in life saving CPR.

The training is free and takes just 60 minutes to learn. Red Cross certified presenters will schedule free trainings with priority given to community groups.

“It’s easy to learn and increases the chances of someone surviving a cardiac emergency. Most often a trained family member or bystander who knows these basic skills can make a big difference when someone stops breathing” said Mable Glenn, NMI board chair.

The chapter recently kicked off this important safety program with NMI Judiciary. During their professional development workshop, over 80 individuals were trained to use these life-saving skills.

To learn more about this program or register your group for training, call the NMI Chapter at 234-3459 for more information.

More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside a hospital each year. Learn how to deliver lifesaving CPR care without rescue breaths and be prepared. (PR)
