APTC info sessions to be held in Savusavu, Labasa, and Suva

The Australian-Pacific Technical College will be holding Information Sessions in Fiji on Wednesday, July 6, in Labasa; on Friday, July 8, in Savusavu; and on Thursday, July 14, in Suva. The Information Sessions are being conducted to provide information about APTC’s technical and vocational courses available to Fiji citizens.

The APTC Information Session will provide information about APTC courses, scholarship opportunities and application requirements. All interested applicants are encouraged to bring with them an original and copy of the their; passport, birth certificate, qualifications and education results, work references from current and previous employers and work history such as a resume. This will assist applicants to complete the application process in person on the day. APTC representatives will be on site to assist and answer questions. Individuals are required to have a minimum equivalent of one year full-time industry experience and/or hold a local qualification.

APTC is an innovative development initiative funded by the Australian Government to deliver training to increase the supply of skilled workers in the Pacific region. APTC training is delivered across five campus countries – Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Samoa and Solomon Islands and is open to citizens from the 14 Pacific Island Forum countries (PIF).

APTC delivers internationally recognised Australian qualifications including Certificate III, IV and some Diploma level courses in: individual support, automotive, construction, disability, early childhood education and care, electrical, engineering, garment manufacturing, health service, hospitality, community development, painting and decorating, plumbing, tourism, wall and floor tiling and youth work.

There is limited availability for full or partial scholarship assistance for Fijian citizens. The APTC scholarship program provides financial assistance to Pacific Islanders to promote access and equity, especially for individuals from smaller island states and for those without other means of support.
