FEMA PUBLIC ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Applicants briefing today on Capital Hill
The Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands government and the Federal Emergency Management Agency would like to invite all government agencies and eligible private non-profit organizations to attend an official Applicants Briefing to learn how to apply for FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA’s Public Assistance program provides federal funds to reimburse a minimum of 75 percent of the costs for removing debris, conducting emergency protective measures and repairing levees, roads, bridges, public utilities, water control facilities, public buildings and parks. Mitigation funding may be considered in each project category.
The Applicant’s Briefing will be held at the Governor’s Office conference room on Capital Hill starting at 9am.
The Applicants Briefing should take no more than two hours, with attendance limited to two individuals from each agency due to limited space. This briefing will provide information about eligibility and the application process for the Public Assistance program, and give the opportunity for potential applicants to ask questions. Please plan on attending, or assigning a staff member to do so.
This Applicant’s Briefing is for local governments and private non-profit organizations. Survivors are encouraged to apply for assistance by calling 800-621-3362 or (TTY) 800-462-7585. Those who use 711-Relay or Video Relay Services can call 800-621-3362 to register. Online registration is also available at www.DisasterAssistance.gov. Business owners can also contact the SBA Customer Service Center 1-800-659-2955 (SBA). (FEMA)
