In line with the Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies’ goal in providing the region’s trustees with relevant and continued training, the Pacific Region Investment Conference now offers one of the most sought after designations in the field of investment-the Accredited Investment Fiduciary, or AIF, designation.

Raising the bar this year with its theme, “Step Up! Earn the Accredited Fiduciary Designation, the Global Standard for Fiduciary Excellence,” this year’s PRIC will be held on Oct. 20-21, 2011, at the New World Hotel, in Manila, the Philippines and offers the AIF Training, which will be facilitated by Fi360 CEO Blaine Aikin, two days prior to the conference, on Oct. 18-19.

The AIF training will teach participants how to articulate the legal and regulatory environment impacting the fiduciary; determine the prudent process that an investment fiduciary should follow; conduct a fiduciary review, prepare investment policy statements; implement an investment strategy; conduct due diligence on investment advisers, financial planners, and fund managers; and implement socially responsible investment strategies, among others.

“The best way to lead fiduciaries is constantly offer relevant training and learning. That is what the partnership with Fi360 will bring to the PRIC,” said Dan Roland, CIMA, executive director of APAFS. Roland has also been asked by the Global Investment Performance Standards Executive Committee to serve on the Promotion and Awareness Subcommittee of GIPS. This committee acts as a forum to generate ideas for the betterment of the industry.

The GIPS standards aim to build a level field, an equal comparison by dictating the standards on the way investment managers analyze and present performance to clients.

APAFS’ registration for the PRIC and the Fi360 AIF Training is ongoing. Register via www.brandspeakasia.com/apafs2011/. Further details regarding the Fi360 AIF Training and the 11th Annual PRIC is posted at www.apafs.org. (APAFS)
