APAFS enters into agreement with CEFEX

HAGATNA, Guam—The Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies is very pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with CEFEX, Centre for Fiduciary Excellence, based in Pittsburgh, PA. Under the terms of the agreement, CEFEX will offer to APAFS Institutional Members, fiduciary assessment and CEFEX certification services at preferential rates and in an expedited manner.

Gerard Cruz, AIFA, chairman of APAFS Board of Governors shares that “through our partnership with Fi360 we have substantially raised the bar for fiduciary practices of investment stewards in the region, with many having earned the FE Certificate or attained the professional AIF designation. The next logical step was being able to offer to the organizations these stewards represent, the ability to earn a certification that provides an independent demonstration that the management system of the organization conforms to specified requirements, is capable of consistently achieving its stated policy and objectives, and that is effectively implemented. We are pleased to be able to add this additional membership benefit through the globally recognized CEFEX brand.”

APAFS is currently undergoing the first CEFEX Steward audit conducted in the region, which if successful, will be followed by an institution member of APAFS. The services will be rolled out to all APAFS members during the November APAFS Fiduciary Events Week to be held in Manila, Philippines.

CEFEX is an independent global assessment and certification organization. It works closely with investment fiduciaries and industry experts to provide comprehensive assessment programs to improve risk management for institutional investors. CEFEX certification helps determine the trustworthiness of investment fiduciaries.

CEFEX provides an independent recognition of a firm’s conformity to a defined Standard of Practice. It implies that a firm can demonstrate adherence to the industry’s best practices and is positioned to earn the public’s trust. The Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies is a Guam 501c3 non-profit educational association. APAFS was founded in 20000 for and by, representatives from public and private institutional funds from throughout the Asia Pacific Region.
