Anchor Milk, through its parent company, Fonterra Dairy, with the help of its CNMI exclusive distributor, Micronesian Brokers, Inc., is happy and honored to support the Salvation Army, headed by Pastor Wayne Guillespe, in their efforts to help the victims of Typhoon Soudelor last August.
The Salvation Army has been on the forefront of relief efforts, along with other government and non-government institutions, in helping the people of Saipan recover from the devastation brought upon about by Typhoon Soudelor. Many people have lost their homes and up to now there is no adequate power and water for the people of Saipan.
Relief efforts coming from charity groups like the Salvation Army help ease the pain and anguish of the stricken public by doing soup kitchens and giving care packages to the affected families.
It is in the light that Anchor Milk, through its local distributor, Micronesian Brokers, Inc., is donating Anchor milk worth $20,000 in order to restore the health of people during this time of recovery.
Anchor Milk from New Zealand has been one of the leading UHT milk brand on Saipan for the past 20 years and is exclusively distributed by MBI, headed by Dennis Yoshimoto.
Anchor Milk/Fonterra is represented by Bhavya Vujcich from New Zealand, covering the Guam, NMI, and Pacific areas for the brand.
It is hoped that through this effort, Anchor and MBI can help in its own way in alleviating the suffering of people and giving nutrition to everyone so that we as the CNMI can recover from this tragedy and continue to be strong in our efforts to overcome.
The Salvation Army would also like to inform the public that the Chalan Piao branch will be serving their last meal today, Sept. 4. However , the Kagman Community Church will continue to serve meals on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and their last day will be Thursday next week.
