Alter City Group will be holding a public hearing today at the Tinian Elementary School starting from 5:30pm, during which it intends to present its project plans to the Tinian community.

According to Albert Davia, Alter City senior vice president for gaming & business development, the public hearing will be attended by their chief executive officer, Edvon Sze.

Managing director Ken Lin and executive vice president of construction Ian Leong will also be present as well as the CNMI team from the Saipan and Tinian offices.

Alter City will be doing a presentation at the beginning of the public hearing.

“The content of the presentation is a summarized version of our DCRM major siting application, with additional information on the benefits the project will have for the community, as well as the future growth of tourism on Tinian,” Davia said.

According to the group, they would want to “see a positive response from the community and hope to gain the community’s support for the project.”

Alter City is looking to develop a casino resort on 700,000 square meters of land it has leased with the government.

Aside from 6,000 rooms for hotel, villas, and serviced apartments, the Macau-based group is also looking at a casino resort complex and a global theme park as part of its master plan for Tinian.

Earlier reports from the company said the construction of rooms, water parks, an 18-hole golf course, casino facilities, and other amenities will be in three phases.

Last June, the group filed its application for a casino license. In May, they made a partial payment of $1.2 million to the government for their major siting permit.
