All-Saipan show in Tagaman relay
It was an all-Saipan show in the relay events of the 26th Tagaman Triathlon with a total 13 teams that were spread out in the men’s, women’s, and mixed divisions.

Saipan Swim Club member Kento Akimaru teamed up with Cesar Fortaleza and Keith Longuski to rule the men’s division in the tough Half-Ironman distance with a combined time of 4:49:40 to beat the father-son tandem of Ben and Benjamin Babauta.
Akimaru swam the 1.9-kilometer distance in 27:15, way ahead of Benjamin Babauta’s 43:14 time.
Fortaleza then completed the 90K bike course in 2:51:44, while Longuski breezed through the 21K run in 1:28:56.
The Babautas placed second with a combined time of 7:07:36 with the older Babauta logging in times of 3:18:09 and 3:01:14 in the bike and run portions of the race.
The three-member team of Crystal Pearson, Antonee Aguilar, and Jenny Yoon was the lone competing squad in the mixed recording times of 31:20 (swim), 3:11:13 (bike), and (2:23:07) in the run for a total of 6:08:40.
Dr. Tony Stearns and Cooper Schraudenback topped the men’s shorter Olympic-distance course—1.5K swim, 40K bike, and 10K run—with the former doing the swim (22:46) and bike (1:11:42) legs, while the latter ran for 44:47 for a total time of 2:34:02.
Stearns and Schraudenback bested the young SSC trio of Rinto Takahashi, Taiga Sato, and Rintaro Miyawaki by more than 10 minutes (2:46:25).
Geuel Villacrusis, Fred Remilloba, and Ricardo Antonio finished third in the men’s division with a time of 2:49:50.
Tiffany Lin, Lauri Boyer, and Yumiko Mizuno won the women’s division (3:06:53) besting the team composed of Maria Ornes, Tina Goodwin, and Angie Mister (3:30:22).
The team of Angel De Jesus, Rene Calage, and Ariel Lansangan clinched the mixed division crown with a time of 2:30:56, while the trio of Claire Seelinger, Margaret Rose, and Seven Johnson completed the race in 2:41:57.
Colin Thompson, daughter Jinju, and Kaden Church finished third (2:46:03).
