Top-ranked Jokers Alamo Car Rental will take on the No. 4 Wild Bills Wild Wild West in the playoff round of the Budweiser-Saipan Billiards Association Open 8-Ball Thursday League.
Alamo earned the top spot after compiling a 154-106 record, narrowly beating the Homeboyz (153-107).
The Homeboyz collide with fellow Jokers-backed squad Wildboyz in the other semis pairing. Both matches will be held tomorrow either at Jokers Bar & Grill or at Wild Bill’s, which are just stones throw away in Garapan.
The Wildboyz came in third after the regular season ending up with a 146-114 slate, while sister squad Wild Wild West finished fourth at 133-127. The Rack ‘N’ Roll (104-156) and Jonny’s Team SCS (90-170) are the other teams in the division.
The winners of the semis matches will play for the title on April 21, while the losers will battle for third place also next week.
Alamo closed out its season with a 9-4 trouncing of the Rack ‘N’ Roll, while the Homeboyz won against Wild Wild West in similar scores. Team SCS drubbed the Wildboyz, 8-5, in the other match.
In the Tuesday SBA Cup, the Hustlers got back at the Voyagers with a 9-4 decision, while the Destroyers scored a 9-2 rout of the Wildboyz.
The Hustlers lost the league crown to the Voyagers just a week ago but this time moved closer to the Cup finals with the victory. They were playing the Destroyers at press time with the winner earning a berth to the title round.
The StraightBlackBall and the Jonny’s Crazy 8 are the other teams battling for remaining finals berth. The finals will be played on April 19.
