AK Toyota launches 2016 Dream Car Art Contest

TAMUNING, Guam—AK Toyota today announced the launch of the 2016 Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, open to students on Guam and the CNMI under the age of 15.

Since 2004, Toyota Dream Car Art Contest has been conducted as part of Toyota Motors Corp.’s social contribution initiatives. DCAC gives children throughout the world the opportunity to develop an interest in cars and helps them feel the joy and importance of having a dream.

The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest invites children from all corners of the globe to share ideas about the future of mobility by drawing their dream cars. Toyota believes in nurturing the creativity of the next generation of great inventors, thinkers and dreamers. Every great idea was born in the glimmer of a dream.

“2016 is an exciting year for Guam and the Marianas, as we are now being considered as an independent source of contest entries and will no longer be combined with entries from the United States,” said Ernie Galito, Marketing and Communications Director at Atkins Kroll. “AK Toyota encourages all teachers, administrators, and parents to support student participation in this contest and we look forward to challenging our island’s students to dream.”

DCAC presents a new opportunity for our island’s students to participate for a chance to win great prizes locally, as well as an opportunity to visit Japan for an Award Ceremony. In addition, young dreamers are given tours at a Toyota factory and can experience various aspects of Japanese culture.

Entries will be accepted at Atkins Kroll Toyota in Tamuning until Friday, March 4, 2016 and the contest is open to students in the following age categories: 7 years old and under; 8-11 years old and 12-15 years old. We are encouraging students to create their “Dream Car” using any standard drawing medium (coloring pencils, crayons, watercolors or markers) with the only restriction being the use of digital tools. We’re looking for hand-drawn colorful artwork, which shows “Your Dream Car.”
