Guam’s police officers will continue patrolling the island’s neighborhoods with the help and commitment of long-time community partner Atkins Kroll Guam.

Police chief J.I. Cruz, Col. Mark Charfauros, and Public Safety oversight chair Sen. Frank B. Aguon, Jr. met with AK Guam president Des Graham last month to ensure the extension of vehicle leases.

The public-private collaboration secured 10 Toyota Prius vehicles to be used by Guam’s police officers.

According to the one-year lease, a total of 10 Toyota Prius vehicles remain part of the public safety agency’s fleet. Takagi and Associates will remain as the vehicle insurers.

In addition, through revolving funds, six more police vehicles were purchased from Cars Plus Guam for neighborhood patrol.
