Aging Center enhances facilities
Congregants of the Aging Center will be pleasantly surprised once they check out the center’s enhanced facilities, according to Office on Aging director Walter Manglona.
Renovations and enhancements have been made to the center throughout the week and enhancements are still being made with the additional equipment that were donated to the man’amko.
Among the enhancement are a surround sound system in the main hall of the facility, a computerized bingo system, a brand new table for table tennis, a library, a new karaoke system and television, a computer station, and many more.
According to Manglona, the enhancements were intended to give back to the man’amko for all their years of service. They also keep the man’amko energized and active.
At the same time, the new features would encourage more man’amko to keep visiting the center and mingling with their peers.
According to Manglona, senior citizens oftentimes keep to themselves because there aren’t much people to talk to at home. The center gives them an alternative, a place where the man’amko can come to and talk to their peers and remain social, he said.
