Agape Christian School swept the overall top honors in the U14 and U18 divisions of the 2019 All Schools Cross-Country Championships held last Saturday at the Saipan Country Club.

Agape accumulated 33 points in the U14 boys category and 24 in the girls to beat Saipan International School, which came up with 38 and 33 markers in the boys and girls races, respectively. The organizing Public School System and Northern Marianas Athletics determined the overall winners in each age group in the boys and girls divisions by awarding points to students based on how they finished in the 3-kilometer (U14) and 4.5K (U18) races. Only the Top 5 runners from each school received points and the team with the least points was declared the winner.

For the U18 division, Agape garnered 26 points in the boys race to top the 45 of SIS, while the Torchbearers notched 31 points in the girls event to prevail against the 38 of the Lady Geckos.

Meanwhile, in the individual awards, Agape swept the first place honors in the boys and girls U14 with Allen Luo timing in at 9:22 and Emma Pang at 10:25. SIS’ Rigel Devey took the silver medal for finishing at 9:30, while his classmate Doyeon Lee bagged the bronze after submitting. 10:13. In the girls division, Dain Dana Lee completed the race in 10:150 to place second, while Joy Wu of Agape rounded out the Top 3 after checking in at 12:09.

In the U18 division, SIS won the top honors with Anika Snyder and Ken Song posting 15:37 and 12:36, respectively, in the three-lap course.
