Agape Christian School graduates 15 students
As family, friends, and teachers cheered from their chapel seats, 15 students received their diplomas Wednesday, May 21, from Agape Christian School. The graduates included five from K5, four eighth grade students, and six seniors.
The school’s 7th commencement exercise featured reflections from two top students among all three divisions of graduates, keynote speaker Christian Bendo from Guam, Rev. Kok H. Pang, school principal Jimeian Pang, and a special guitar performance by Alen Guo, who is one of the graduating seniors.
John Edsel Hinolan was hailed the valedictorian and Ainsley Ancheta as the salutatorian for K5. For the eighth grade, Bei Bei Chen was valedictorian and Dawei Cai was salutatorian. Senior valedictorian was Allen Guo and Elijah Li was salutatorian.
School principal Pang congratulated the graduates for committing to their future and to their work, family, and community to make it to graduation day. She told the graduates to always keep God in mind and achieve greater.
“It is with great pleasure to present the graduates for Agape Christian School and I encourage them to keep reading the Bible and they’ll find the answers, keep it close, and always pray no matter how busy they are,” Pang said.
Bendo told all the students to remember to always work hard, study hard, and pursue wisdom.
“We all should pursue wisdom because you may have knowledge but you lack wisdom, but with wisdom you can accomplish more achievements in the future,” he said.
Chen said that she tried to find true friendship during her school years at Agape School.
“I learned about God and more viable lessons during the two years. I had great teachers that I would not forget and what they have done for me,” Chen said.
Chen said that she was born to a non-Christian family, but her mother introduced her to a Christian school. She also narrated how she struggled to find a school to study abroad but when she finally got the chance she chose Saipan.
Chen noted that she would continue at Agape because “it is my home now.”
Guo is sad to leave the school behind. “We got to know each other during high school,” he said. “Those memories will never leave me and I am grateful to the people who accompanied us down this road to success.”
The commencement exercise was followed by a banquet.
