Lions chomp on McDonald’s
Victories are coming in too late for the Kagman Little Lions of Reps. Ed Salas and Rosmond Santos in the majors division of the Saipan Little League.
The Lions used two runs each in the first, second, and fifth innings to escape with a 7-3 win over Team McDonald’s on Tuesday at the Miguel Basa “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Field.
Keene Deleon Guerrero batted and pitched his way in the game going 3-for-3 scoring twice with a triple and an RBI.
He then earned the win pitching 4 2/3 innings wherein he gave up three earned runs on six hits while striking out nine batters and walking three more.
David Muna relieved him in the top of the fifth when Kindo Villagomez was up to bat. Muna, with two outs, gave up a single to Villagomez before striking out Ryan Butag.
He preserved the win in the top of the sixth when he forced Clayton Sablan to ground out to a 4-3 play to Sean Castro, who then made the relay throw to Cedric Ada.
Muna then got the second out when he forced Ken Taguchi to ground out on a 5-3 putout play to Vicente Deleon Guerrero, who fielded it cleanly to Ada.
The game ended when Muna made Marino Ngeskebei hit an infield fly to shortstop Deleon Guerrero.
Deleon Guerrero started the game with a first inning RBI single, and a bloop single to left in the third, before a connecting with an RBI triple in the fifth.
In yesterday’s game, the AA Ent./TCC World Braves of Tanapag was playing the Tan Holdings Athletics A’s at the “Tan Ge” Field. The Braves were holding on to a 12-7 lead in the top of the fifth.
