Local players to take part in Tinian fiesta tennis

The 2008 San Jose Fiesta Tennis Tournament that kicks off this week on Tinian will see familiar faces from the island’s racquet scene.

According to Tinian Tennis Association president and tourney director Sonny Decena local players that will take part include himself, son Benjie, and wife Linda, Doy Ligan, Archie Monticello, Conrad Libot, Emily Kwan, Ellen Uy, Sue Reyes, Rolly and Emy Bugarin, Elvis De Castro, Joseph San Nicolas, Jonathan San Nicolas, James San Nicolas, Gregor Barit, Herman and Julian Hofschneider, Arley Long, Xuan, Bogs Pascua, Edgar Acculador, Manny Sencio, and Victor Cunanan.

Competitions will be held in the men’s and women’s singles and men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles in the open, 4.0, 3.0, and 2.0 levels at the Tinian Youth Center Tennis Court. It will start from May 1 and conclude in May 3 during the San Jose Fiesta.
