Norita taps lady cop as new Crime Stoppers coordinator
Department of Public Safety Commissioner Claudio Norita has appointed a new coordinator for NMI Crime Stoppers Program.
Norita tapped Police Officer 2 Trishia Seman, who is currently assigned at DPS Sexual Offender’s Registry and Public Relations Office, as the new Crime Stoppers coordinator.
“I’m excited. It’s going pretty good,” said Seman in an interview with Saipan Tribune.
Seman said DPS and the Crime Stoppers Program are hoping she will be able to help them reach out the community more to get people be involved and helped out the Crime Stoppers.
Crime Stoppers Board chair Jim Arenovski said he is very excited to have Seman as the new coordinator as the position is very important for the law enforcement and community.
Arenovski said he has known Seman for a long time and that he is aware of her excellent record with the Junior police program, drug abuse resistance, and other projects involving students.
“She is an excellent representative for Crime Stoppers. We are very excited to have her in our team,” the board chair said.
When Police Officer 1 Tony Diaz resigned as police officer and as Crime Stoppers coordinator in November 2007, DPS did not appoint a permanent Crime Stoppers coordinator.
