Peers win two to join leader on top

MHS Peers won two in a row to join Kiss My Pass on top of the standings in the 9th Annual Pacific Islands Club-Miller Lite Spring Co-ed 4-Person Beach Volleyball League at the Pacific Islands Club sand courts.

Results of games on Tuesday and Wednesday gave the Peers a 3-0 record, which is the same slate that Kiss My Pass is currently holding. Both teams enjoy a full-game lead over the also undefeated Fatingali and Angan (2-0).

Spiked Punch became MHS Peers’ latest victim as they grinded out an 9-11, 11-0, 11-8 win on Wednesday night to follow up their 11-8, 11-9, 4-11 triumph over MHS Okies on Tuesday.

Kiss My Pass made sure there will be a two-way tie for the lead when they scored an 11-9 11-5, 3-11 victory against 670 Boom Boom also last Tuesday.

MHS Okies bounced back from its loss to Peers when they pulled off an 11-4, 11-5, 5-11 decision against MHS Young Guns, while 15 Of Fame won their first game when they swept Spike’A’Saurus, 11-5, 11-6, 11-8.

Tsunami squeezed out an 11-9, 6-11, 11-9 victory against Herbalizers in the other match on Wednesday.

Last Tuesday, Spike’A’Saurus toyed with Brabu, 11-8, 11-1, 6-11 while Fatingali squeezed out an 11-3, 11-8, 12-10 win over Herbalizers.

MHS Okies, 15 Of Fame, Snap Crackle Pop, and Fatingali were playing Angan, MHS Young Guns, 670 Boom Boom, and Gigi at press time.

On Tuesday, Tsunami, 15 of Fame, 670 Boom, Boom, and Spike’A’Sauras will meet Brabu, Angan, Herbalizers, and Fatingali while on Wednesday MHS Peers, Spiked Punch, Fatingali, and Snap Crackle Pop battle Kiss My Pass, Spike’A’Sauras, Tsunami, and Herbalizers.

Last year, top seed Limarh completed its amazing one-loss season when they scored a 15-7 win over the Sand Smackers to win the title. They finished with a 10-1 card tallying 346 points while limiting their opponents to 225 and winning 27 sets in the three-month long tournament.
