RGA to link up with NMC this weekend
The Refuluwasch Golf Association May qualifier will be held in conjunction with the 6th Annual NMC Foundation Open tomorrow, April 26, at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.
RGA tournament director Jess Wabol said they are linking up with the second “major” golf tournament of the year to save costs and assure the NMC Foundation Open would have more players.
According to organizers of the NMC Open, the 2008 edition of the tournament will adopt a medal play format and will utilize a special double Peoria on all men’s flights. Check-in time is 6am with shotgun start at 7am.
In addition to first, second, and third place prizes for the flights, the tournament will include hole-in-one prizes.
The lucky golfer who makes a hole-in-one shot has a chance at winning a 2008 Mazda 3, courtesy of Triple J; or $25,000 in cash from Bank of Hawaii; or another $25,000 in cash from AON Insurance; or a $5,000 cash prize courtesy of Century Insurance.
Proceeds from the 6th Annual NMC Foundation Open will go toward the needs of the islands’ lone tertiary institution.
