A disgrace

To veteran lawmakers Heinz Hofscnieder and Victor Hocog, it is such a disgrace and enormous disrespect that both of you are products of failures in the past by not addressing our labor and immigration loopholes and flaws. Instead, the two of you assisted in flooding our homeland with foreign guest workers due to amendments after amendments of Labor and Immigration laws, especially during the Tenorio administration, in order to appease an ungrateful, foreign abuser in the early 1990s who has since packed up and left since he could longer profit from our homeland but left his mess behind for the common indigenous Northern Mariana descent people to clean up.

Today, you are seeking to co-sponsor Tina Sablan’s bill to do the same thing! The two of you, including Tina Sablan and Ed Salas, should be charged with treason and negligence, to include removal from office, since all four of you swore under oath to defend and protect our Constitution, our Covenant, laws and treaties in political union with the United States.

If any of you can remove the scar and reputation of our homeland of being accused as labor abuser, human smuggler, human exploiter, sex slaver, and so forth to include the collections of millions and millions of Compact Aid to supplement all the expenses from your own creation in the past from such influxes of foreign guest workers, who supplanted our local workforce, driven our public services, infrastructure, education system, labor and immigration aground and other services here in our homeland, then maybe this issue can be discussed.

It’s been over 100 days since the four of you had been in office and nothing to show for it other than grandstanding and wasting taxpayers’ time. We have a major crisis in our homeland, such as our economy, CUC, government funding shortfalls, retirement, unemployment, education, public health and this is what the four of you have come up with to solve our economic crisis?

Taotao Tano tried to understand this issue during the past three dialogues with foreign organizations such as Dekada, Human Dignity, Movers and others but we believe that the damage has been done. The federal immigration law will supercede all labor and immigration laws for this is what a majority of foreigners fought for in our homeland. This is a sensitive matter, and to pursue such an issue is a complete disgrace, disrespect, treason and neglect of duty to your constituents. Taotao Tano sympathizes with the foreign guest workers and the many contributions they had contributed in our homeland but they were well compensated, and granting of some sort of status in our homeland was not part of their contract when they first entered. We will never be a minority in our homeland.
