Frankie Camacho and Frankie Norita joined hands to help the Kautz Glass Pirates pull off an 11-6 win over the Kagman Little Lions in yesterday’s Majors division game in the Saipan Little League at the Miguel Basa “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Field.

Camacho went perfect at the plate going 4-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, a triple, and two RBIs. He had an RBI triple in the third and a fifth inning RBI double.

Norita earned his stripes on the mound scattering six hits in 5 2/3 innings of work. He also gave up two earned runs while striking out 11 batters and walking three more.

Camacho relieved him when Catalina Dela Cruz was up to bat in the top of the sixth after Norita reached the 85-pitch count limit. The Little League has implemented the pitch count rule this season where a pitcher needs to be replaced after reaching the limit of pitches thrown.

Camacho came in with one out and runners at second and third. He also came in after Norita allowed Vincent Leon Guerrero score on a pass ball and gave up consecutive walks to Joey Duenas and Joseph Taitano.

Norita caught Sean Castro looking retiring the Lions’ second baseman for the first out.

That was enough for Camacho to earn the save as he forced Dela Cruz to fly out to center fielder Austin Deleon Guerrero then made Justin Santos hit an infield fly that third baseman Jonah Flores caught for the third out that ended the game.

Patrick Reyes also made a significant contribution going 2-for-3 and blasting a two-run inside-the-park home run in the Pirates’ four-run fourth inning rally. He also scored three times in the game.

Hustlers 11, Ol’Aces 5

A.J. Lizama pitched 5 2/3 innings and went 2-for-4 at the plate to help the UMDA Hustlers beat the Happy Market Ol’Aces on Tuesday.

Lizama gave up two earned runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and two walks before being replaced by Raymund Saralu after reaching the 85-pitch count.

Saralu replaced Lizama after the Hustlers’ starter struck out Shane Guerrero. Saralu gave up a single to Jesse Brel but the Hustlers defense stepped up forcing the Ol’Aces runner on a 4-6 putout play for the second out.

Saralu then walked Keola Camacho but he was caught on a 5-4 putout play while trying to steal second base.

Liazama scored twice and had an RBI while Jesus Mafnas went 2-for-2 with a double.

Patriots 30, Athletics A’s 3

Defending champion SaipanCell Patriots showed how determined they are of keeping the, title coasting to a 30-3 win over the Tan Holdings Athletics A’s last Saturday.

Jared Sablan, Jun Rabauliman, Chris Mizer, and Jaime Manglona went perfect at the plate to lead the Patriots’ 30-for-37 batting. Sablan and Rabauliman went 5-for-5 while Mizer went 4-for-4 and Manglona, 3-for-3.

Sablan scored four times, had a double, a triple, and a two-run inside-the-park home run in his third at bat in the Patriots’ 22-run second inning scoring barrage to go with his six RBIs while Rabauliman had three runs and a two-run shot in the second.

Mizer had four runs, two doubles, and two RBIs while Manglona scored four runs, two RBIs and a solo shot in the second inning.

Brett Halstead joined in the hit parade going 2-for-3 with three runs, and an RBI. He also homered for the Patriots belting a two-run inside-the-parker in their 22-run second inning.

The Patriots’ bullpen gave up one run pitching four innings of one-hit ballgame fanning eight and walking eight more batters.
