Man allegedly beats up his wife at Susupe park

Police arrested a man who allegedly beat up his wife at the Susupe Regional Park during an argument early Sunday morning.
Adrian Baculod, 23, was arrested for assault and battery. A $2,100 cash bail was imposed for his temporary liberty.
The wife sustained a laceration in the face, police said.
Detective Andrea C. Ozawa stated in her report that on Sunday at 1:15am, two police officers were on routine patrol when they spotted a vehicle parked at the Susupe Regional Park with its parking lights on.
As the police officers were approaching the entrance to the park to check the car, the vehicle headed toward them. The driver’s window rolled down and the driver, later identified as Baculod, told the officers that he was just having an argument with his wife.
The officers then heard a woman inside the car yelling for help. The officers instructed Baculod to park the car. Baculod, however, allegedly drove out of the park’s exit to Beach Road. This prompted the officers to activate the siren and pursue the car.
The car stopped near the Mobil service station in Susupe. When one of the two police officers approached the passenger side, a woman with blood all over her face opened the window and told the officer that her husband had beaten her up.
Medics were then called to treat the victim.
Police learned that the victim was at Club V at 1am when Baculod called her up to come out. When the victim came out, Baculod told her to get in the car so she could go home.
The defendant, however, drove to Susupe Beach Park where he parked the car, opened the passenger door, and then allegedly started punching his wife in the face.
Baculod allegedly kept beating her up so she tried to get out of the car. After punching her again, the defendant allegedly pulled her out of the car, dragged her and picked her up.
Baculod then told her to get in the car and be quiet or he would go to jail. When the victim got back into the car, she then saw a police car coming.
At 1:27am that day, police placed Baculod under arrest.
