Illegitimate concerns

Open letter to the Commissioner of Education:

I am writing in support of Mrs. Lynne Michael as the Rota principal. I’ve known this person all through my entire life since she first moved to Rota. She really cares about the island and the people of Rota. She and her husband contribute their time in helping the environment and the Rota Blue triathlon. They also used their boat to help rescue drowning victims and boaters in distress.

Most of all, she really cares about educating our island’s children to higher standards and excellence. These are what we need to keep in school! High standards, discipline to the students and the faculty. Life these days is too hard. Students need to be highly disciplined and challenged to face the realities of life. The people of Rota were forced to sign petitions that were spearheaded by a few group of people who dislike the superb job of Mrs. Michael. And were also provided with wrong information about Mrs. Michael, which resulted in an outbreak of negative outburst or outcry toward Mrs. Michael. There is nothing wrong with this person. She can run the school well and manage it professionally.

This is so embarrassing for my community. We should focus on the big issues affecting our island and not putting our negative energy and thoughts on minute things. If it is not broken…don’t fix it. Rota leaders, stay away from this issue! Respect the commissioner’s decision. Focus on fixing the problem of the CNMI and help the people. Not this kind of illegitimate concerns.
