GCA presents a musical of ‘treasures’
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.” —Matthew 6:19
This Friday, April 11, Grace Christian Academy presents Pirates of the “I Don’t Care”-ibbean, a kids musical about storing treasures in heaven.
The musical will be held at 6pm at the GCA Auditorium. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children.
Pirates of the “I Don’t Care”-ibbean is all about treasure: how we are treasures in God’s eyes and that treasure is to be stored up in heaven,
A company of pirates who have been cast-off by their leader, Captain Jack, spend their days without meaning, thinking they have no value and no purpose.
Similar to Dorothy traveling back to the Land of Oz, a boy named Andy shows up unexpectedly at Johnny Bay where the pirates lived. Ultimately, Andy reminds the band of scallywags that they really do matter, and he learned a few lessons along the way, too. Narrated by two witty angels, the musical has a lot of fun rules for kids to anchor themselves, it emphasizes where true treasure lies. (PR)
