The CNMI Chapter of the Worldwide Marriage Encounter is officially the first organization to register and pay for a booth at the upcoming Marianas March Against Cancer.

“The Marriage Encounter community is committed to supporting local families who have had to tackle this life threatening disease,” said the group in a statement issued yesterday.

Members will be selling luminaries for $5 each and Northwest Airlines raffle tickets for a roundtrip ticket for one to Asia and another ticket to the U.S. mainland.

The Marriage Encounter Community is encouraging all encountered couples to support the MMAC effort through cash donations, luminary or NWA ticket raffle purchases, ME T-shirt sales and walking laps around the track on May 16-17 at Hopwood Junior High School.

The next ME Weekend planning meeting will take place at the residence of Charles and Cathy Cepeda on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 6:30pm in Fina Sisu. Call 483-6435 for more details. “Please bring a potluck dish to share,” the group said.

If you are interested in taking your marriage to the next level by registering for the weekend at the Saipan Grand Hotel on April 25-27, 2008, contact John & Vicky Mafnas at 285-8454 or vbmafnas@yahoo.com. (PR)
