2008 Taste of the Marianas planning now in full swing

The Marianas Visitors Authority and the Hotel Association of the Marianas are already in the thick of planning this year’s “Taste of the Marianas.”
The kickoff will be on May 3 at American Memorial Park, followed by four consecutive Saturday evenings on May 10, 17, 24 and 31. The event takes place from 6pm to 10pm on the dates listed.
The Taste of the Marianas has been described as “an international food festival and beer garden with various competitions and entertainment provided by local and guest performers.” The event is reflective of the islands with village huts built to create as island flavor.
This year’s participating food vendors include Aqua Resort Club, Capricciosa & Tony Roma’s, D’Elegance Restaurant, Fiesta Resort & Spa, Hafadai Beach Hotel, Herman’s Modern Bakery, Hula Girl, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Mariana Resort & Spa, Pacific Islands Club Saipan, Palms Resort Saipan, Poon’s Restaurant, Saipan World Resort, Thai House Restaurant and Ty & Tia.
“The Taste of the Marianas has become an annual event that both locals and visitors have come to enjoy,” said MVA managing director Perry Tenorio. “At MVA, we embrace the opportunity to have our visitors to the island experience our local culture in an environment that has become a mainstay for the island of Saipan.”
