Ol’Aces hand Jets second loss
The UMDA Ol’Aces grounded the Jets on Saturday pulling off a 9-6 win in their Junior League division game in the Saipan Little League at the Francisco M. Palacios Baseball Field.
The Ol’Aces used a five-run third-i nning scoring rally then held off the Jets’ comeback tries to secure their second win in six games to remain in third place in the five-team field.
The Jets suffered their second straight loss but remained on top of the standings with a league-best seven wins. The Jets were on a seven-game winning streak when the Kagman Lion Hearts ended it with a 6-4 win last April 1.
The Lion Hearts of Reps. Ed Salas and Rosmond Santos is in second place with a 5-2 mark followed by Ol’Aces (2-4), Fielders (1-3), and the PTI Dolphins (0-1).
Lamarc Iguel pitched a complete game and was tagged with 11 hits with three strikeouts, and two walks.
Kevin Yamada went 2-for-4 with one run and RBI, while Rocco Reyes also went 2-for-4 and scored a run for the Ton Flores-managed Ol’Aces.
[B]SENIOR LEAGUEFielders 13, Dolphins 6[/B]
Ryan Ada, who is a member of the Senior League All-Star team that played in the World Series last year, homered and went perfect at the plate to lead the Tan Holdings Fielders to a 13-6 crushing of the PTI Dolphins.
The win improved the Fielders’ slate to an even 3-3 mark, while the Dolphins dropped to a 7-4 slate but remained on top of the field despite the loss.
The JET Holdings Jets is in second spot with a 4-1 card, while the Plus Marketing-Pacific Bio Medical Services Inc. D9ers and the Kagman Lion King of Reps. Ed Salas and Rosmond Santos have yet to barge in the win column.
Ada went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, and two RBIs. He had an RBI double in the first inning then had a solo shot in the Fielders’ four-run third inning.
He also pitched a complete game giving up 11 hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.
