Tickets still available for Shimabukuro concert
With just a day until the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands- and the Beautify CNMI-sponsored Jake Shimabukuro concert, only 300 general admission seats remain for sale.
“Our first five rows of VIP seating sold out within four hours,” said Angelo Villagomez of Beautify CNMI.
“General admission seating is first-come, first-seated basis so concert goers still have a chance at great seats, plus there is really not a bad seat in the venue.”
Doors of the Saipan World Resort outdoor theater open at 6pm tomorrow, March 27, 2008. The concert begins at 7pm with an opening performance by the Olomwaay Band.
A world-renowned ukulele virtuoso, Shimabukuro is known for his lightning-fast fingers and revolutionary playing. His musical stylings range from jazz, blues, funk, classical, bluegrass, and folk to flamenco and rock.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children less than 12 years in age. Tickets are available for purchase at Century Hotel. Tickets will be sold at the door beginning at 5pm the day of the concert. For additional ticket information or to purchase tickets, call the PTI-sponsored Beautify CNMI volunteer line at 285-6462. Proceeds from the charity concert will be divided between HANMI and Beautify CNMI, both non-profit organizations.
The Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands was established on Aug. 29, 1985, after a group of hotel operators came together and saw the need to form an organization representing the hospitality industry in the CNMI. Through proactive community participation, HANMI is committed to fostering a better way of life for the people of the CNMI.
Beautify CNMI is a coalition of various government agencies, businesses, non-profit organizations, private citizens and visitors. Its mission is to foster community pride through a comprehensive beautification campaign aimed at enhancing the beauty of the island environments and quality of life through public education on recycling, restoration, waste management, and enforcement of laws.
