Six teams left in men’s, Ta Chagi knocked out
Only six teams remain in the hunt for the two finals berth in the men’s division, while Seikid knocked out Ta Chagi in the women’s side of the 2008 Indoor Volleyball Winter League held last week at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
Fanians, Islanders, No Fear, Ol’Aces, and CH-Hammers join top seed Menudo in the final six teams in the men’s division. Beach Jammerz and Home Boyz were eliminated after suffering consecutive losses in the playoff round.
Fanians won by default against Beach Jammerz, while CH-Hammer showed Home Boyz the door after a hard-earned 25-20, 27-25 win.
No Fear dealt Islanders its first loss in the playoff round after a 25-21, 25-17 decision, while Menudos won by walkover against Ol’Aces, which forfeited the match.
Two more teams are expected to go out today when Fanians battle the Islanders at 6pm with CH-Hammers clashing with Menudos at 7pm, while Ol’Aces collide with No Fear at 8pm.
The winner of the Fanians-Islanders match will face the winner of the game between CH-Hammers and Menudos at 8:30pm.
In the women’s division, Pikan Gaga battles YoYo’s today at 6pm with the winner earning the first finals berth while the loser facing the winner of the Seikid-Beach Jammers 7pm game.
Pikan Gaga also had an easy job against Beach Jammers last March 19, while Seikid knocked out Ta Chagi after a 25-19, 25-19 win.
