Kagman to hold 3-on-3 caging
Kagman’s youth are invited to join the Kagman 3-on-3 Street Basketball Tournament, which will be held on March 24 and 25, Monday and Tuesday, at Chacha Oceanview Junior High School.
The tournament, which will run from 3pm to 9pm on both days, is exclusive for Kagman youths between 14 to 18 years old. The entrance fee is $5 per player or $25 for a team with five players.
The number of teams will be limited to a maximum of 16 and a minimum of 12 in the two-day tournament, which follows a double-elimination round format.
Each team, which will be given one 30-second timeout and is allowed to have a maximum of five players. Games will have 12 minutes each where the first team to reach 15 points wins.
If the time runs out, the team with the highest score wins. A three-minute overtime will take place in case of ties and a free throw will decide the game in case of a sudden death.
The 3-on-3 basketball tournament is organized by the Northern Youth Basketball Association, which is also advising interested teams to prepare for the opening of the 2008 season of the NYBA 16-and-under league.
Titles in Division I (12-and-under), Division II (14-and-under), and Division III (16-and-under) will be contested in the league, which opens on March 26 at 5:30pm at the Garapan basketball court across from Bank of Guam.
Games will be played every Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with Saturdays reserved for make-up matches. Two games will be played every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with the second game scheduled at 7pm.
A maximum of 14 teams per division are allowed to join in the league, which will have a $100 entrance fee per squad.
