Aetna Life Insurance is selected for GHLI program
The Department of Finance Group Health & Life Insurance Trust Fund announced yesterday the selection of Aetna Life Insurance Company to be the sole health carrier for the CNMI government.
This selection follows the issuance of RFP21-GOV082 and a thorough evaluation and rating of submitted proposals.
“We are delighted to see the number of companies that submitted proposals to provide our active employees and retirees with critical health insurance coverage” said Gov. Ralph DLG Torres. “Lt. Gov. [Arnold I.] Palacios and I would like to thank the evaluation committee members for their due diligence in the process and for ensuring that those here in the CNMI and abroad continue to receive quality healthcare services.”
Finance Secretary David DLG Atalig echoed Torres’ sentiments, stating that the insurance companies’ responses to the RFP were thorough and competitive.
“The committee went over all the requirements in the RFP, the proposals submitted, and discussed questions and concerns in order to select the best carrier to meet the needs of those in and outside the CNMI. The benefits coverage that was selected is considered to be the most advantageous option for our government employees and retirees,” he added.
Following the selection of the carrier, the Department of Finance Group Health & Life Insurance Trust Fund will announce the open enrollment period in the coming weeks. (PR)
