The Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium will be closed for majority of the week to accommodate the Super American Circus.

During the Northern Marianas Sports Association board meeting last Thursday at the conference room of the Ada Gym, Northern Marianas Sports Association executive director Tony Rogolifoi announced the closure of the facility to accommodate improvements needed in preparation for performances of the visiting group.

“We will be closing the gym so they can set up for the Circus. It’s going to be held from Nov. 15 to 17 and this is a project from the Lady Diann Foundation,” Rogolifoi said.

Government agencies, including the Saipan Mayor’s Office, the Department of Public Works, and more, will be deployed to prepare the facilities for this weekend’s event, which will be the island’s first.

“In order for them to have a nice and presentable facility for the event, they are sending different agencies from the government to come down here to take part in the preparation of the facility, from the outside to the inside, including the toilets,” the NMSA official added.

Rogolifoi said the government agencies will take care of all the logistical aspects—NMSA is not involved—except for providing the venue. Concerned groups will also make minor improvements to the Ada Gym, including the lighting. NMSA will provide fans since there is no air-conditioning system at the facility.
