Acting governor Eloy S. Inos signed into local law on Monday a measure that appropriates $41,813 for Tinian patients and school expenses.

The amount was collected from poker and pachinko slot machine license fees on Tinian.

Inos signed House Local Bill 17-59, Draft 1 into Tinian Local Law 17-8.

Of the total amount, $27,000 goes to the monthly subsistence allowance of Tinian patients on dialysis, with cancer, multiple sclerosis, debilitating epilepsy seizure disorder, dermatomyositis, and post-cerebral vascular accident patients with permanent neurologic deficit.

The remaining $14,813 goes to Tinian Elementary School to cover expenses related to the Chamorro Language Competition in Guam.

Rep. Trenton Conner (R-Tinian), author of the local bill, said yesterday he’s thankful for the acting governor “for his understanding and consideration on the expeditious signing” of his local bill.
