The Guma Hustisia in Susupe has been closed since Friday morning because of the air-conditioning problem, resulting in the postponement of several case proceedings.

It’s not just the air-conditioning system, though, according to a source, but possibly a serious mold problem.

The source said mold is a health issue that would require closing the entire building for an unknown length of time.

According to the website www.mold-answers.com, mold spores irritate and inflame the airway and lungs, causing coughing, sneezing, bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma attacks, and other respiratory problems.

As of press time yesterday, Saipan Tribune was still waiting for comments from the CNMI Judiciary about a possible mold problem.

According to the CNMI Judiciary’s public notice, the House of Justice was closed yesterday due to continuing efforts to repair the air-conditioning system.

The Office of Adult Probation satellite office located behind the House of Justice will maintain regular business hours, according to the notice signed by Chief Justice Alexandro C. Castro and Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja.

The Tinian and Rota courts have regular business hours.
