Public School System Federal Programs advisor Tim Thornburgh and Human Resource Division director Charlie Kenty have filled up the void at the PSS Central Office.

According to Education Commissioner David M. Borja, the two PSS officers are temporarily occupying the two most important posts in the system: Associate Commissioner for Administrative Services and Director of Finance.

Borja announced during the recent Board of Education board meeting that Thornburgh has been assigned as acting PSS Finance director while Kenty was assigned as associate commissioner for administrative services. Borja told the board that the two will be at these posts until qualified people are available to take over.

Thornburgh replaces outgoing PSS director of finance Richard Waldo, who tendered his resignation after eight years of serving the CNMI. Waldo said his resignation would take effect on Dec. 29. He submitted his resignation letter to the PSS Human Resource Office Nov. 29.

Waldo, who is also a certified public accountant, completed his Praxis certification last year and has been holding review classes. He will be teaching finance courses at the Northern Marianas College under the University of Argosy program. He will start teaching at NMC next semester.

Kenty said he has been at his new post since Dec. 4. He took over the position that Borja used to occupy. Borja was selected as the Education Commissioner in August.
