Woman hurt in domestic fight
A woman was injured during a domestic fight with her common-law husband at their residence in Kagman 3 Wednesday night.
Police quoted a doctor at the Commonwealth Health Center as saying that the victim could not move her right leg and that she also suffered bruises and scrape marks on the left hip.
The suspect, Ignacio Clement Santos, 42, was arrested for assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
During a bail hearing yesterday, Superior Court Associate Judge David Wiseman imposed a $200 cash bail plus $1,800 unsecured bond for the temporary release of Santos.
Detective Juan C. Mendiola stated in his report that preliminary investigation showed that the victim and Santos had just come from a Thanksgiving party at Santos’ parents house Wednesday night. While in the car, Santos had accused the victim of flirting with his co-worker, triggering an argument.
Inside the house, the defendant started yelling and throwing things. He allegedly threatened the victim he would break her face if she ever cheats on him.
The victim decided to go out the house so she could call her sister from a neighbor’s residence. On her way out, the defendant allegedly pushed her. The victim fell face down and hit the concrete.
Santos apologized. The victim, who was crying in pain, went to the neighbor’s house. After using the telephone, she complained of pain in her chest and fainted, a witness said.
Police said Santos admitted that he pushed the victim outside the house.
Police placed the defendant under arrest Thursday at 12:12am. (Ferdie de la Torre)
