PIC postseason slate set
The regular season ended with a bang on Tuesday night but the postseason action at the Pacific Islands Club is set to sizzle as the best teams from the Blue and Yellow divisions meet in the 8th Annual Miller Lite Coed Four-Person Volleyball League playoffs.
The four teams that finished with the best records in each division will play their first inter-divisional games next Tuesday, Nov. 28, and organizers are expecting some of the best matches of the year when the foursomes hit the San Antonio sand.
The games start at 5:30pm when the second place Pulullun Part II (6-1) from the Yellow Division squares off against the Blue Division’s third place finisher, Luther’s Ride (5-2). The experts are looking closely at the outcome of this contest as well as the 6:30pm match between Taula Peter’s Dingleberries (6-1) and E.J. Lee’s Battered Fish Sticks (4-3) as the respective second and third place finishers from the Blue and Yellow Divisions should match up well against each other.
The first place finishers will face the fourth place finishers in the late games, and the undefeated squads seem to have the advantage over their counterparts. While it’s tough to count anyone out in the league, We’re All Going Streaking (7-0) should have an advantage over the students from Marianas High School at 7:30pm as Dolphins-Just Wanna Have Fun (4-3) finished just a game over .500 this year.
Scott Eck’s Kraken (7-0) also finished with an unblemished record in the Yellow Division, and the Dingleberries will face a squad of students as Saipan International School (4-3) looks to make it to the next round of play at 8:30pm.
