Rotary presents checks to Las Vegas Night winners
The weekly Rotary Club of Saipan meeting at the Giovanni’s Restaurant of the Hyatt Regency Saipan was unusually crowded yesterday, with the Las Vegas Night winners all trooping to the Saipan landmark to claim their prizes.
Restaurateur Patricia Boyer led the roster of winners as she accepted her $5,000 grand prize, together with the $3,000 second prize winner Roy Banados and $2,000 third prize winner Ben Babauta.
Six other winners were present at the meeting. Julie Abad and Virginia Reyes claimed their $1,000 prize each. Another winner of $1,000, Rotarian Herb Soll, was off island.
The four $500 winners also took time to claim their prizes: Becky Castro, Ann Marie Dela Cruz, Debra Diaz and Chai Hooper.
The winners posed for souvenir photos with the media as Rotary president Deanna Kelly-Tessen thanked and congratulated the winners for supporting the successful annual event.
The Rotary Club of Saipan held its annual fundraiser on Nov. 11, Veterans’ Day, at the Aqua Resort Club. It was attended by hundreds of community members who came to support the club’s yearly event and have a chance to win big bucks at the different card tables, bingo and the roulette.
This year, the Rotary Club added a couple of games but nobody won the $25,000 Six Dice Roll and the $50,000 jackpot for the Super Bingo.
