All set for tomorrow’s All Comers Meet
All is set for tomorrow’s All Comers Meet hosted by Northern Marianas Athletics.
According to NMA coaches’ director Elias Rangamar, the track and field events for the meet is all set and interested athletes can register for their respective event at 3pm at the Oleai Sports Complex track and field facility.
Rangamar disclosed that the meet will include running events such as the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1,500m races. Throwing events will also be held and includes the shot put, javelin throw, and discus throw, while jumpers will compete in the long and high jumps.
All events will feature divisions for men and women.
Another crowd pleaser will be held as Rangamar said that the event will conclude with the 4X100m relays and medley relays.
The event serves as a tune up for the CNMI delegation that will compete in the 2006 Oceania Under 18/Open Track and Field Championships in Apia, Samoa this December.
“This is a good meet for our athletes that are going so they can get some competition before they leave, and its also good for other athletes because they get to work a sweat, support the CNM delegation, and also see where they stand in the case that they are looking to compete in future track and field events,” Rangamar said.
The meet is scheduled to get underway at 4pm, and depending on the number of participants, may run up to about 8pm.
NMA will also host another All Comers Meet on Nov. 29. The event will serve as the CNMI team’s final tune up competition for the Oceania Championships.
Registration for the event is scheduled for 4pm, and the meet will begin at 5pm. Events for meet will be similar to events scheduled for tomorrow’s meet.
