Continental brings HK travel agents to Guam

[B]HAGÅTÑA, Guam[/B]—Continental Micronesia sponsored 14 travel agents to travel to Guam from Hong Kong this past weekend, Nov. 3 – 6, 2006. This group’s trip coincides with Continental Micronesia’s celebration of 15 years of flying between Guam and Hong Kong.
Three representatives from Continental Holidays accompanied the group of travel agents. Continental Micronesia supported this familiarization trip in order to create more travel demand from Hong Kong. To tie in with the celebrations, Continental is offering bonus miles; free gifts; plane mobile phone holders; and “The Guam Pass,” which offers visitors discounts to over 20 restaurants and attractions in Guam; and 50 percent off the dolphin watch tour for visitors from now through December 15. This will help Guam’s visitors industry and grow Guam’s economy.
Continental’s Hong Kong Sales and Holidays staff members work with several retail travel agencies in Hong Kong, who are keenly interested in bringing tourists to Guam to take advantage of the island’s wedding market and water attractions. In September, Continental Micronesia hosted travel agencies to Guam from some of the leading travel agencies in Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China; hosted a media familiarization tour; and a travel agency familiarization tour comprised of Hong Kong’s leading wholesale travel agency, Globalair. The trips were part of a series of activities Continental Micronesia initiated to develop awareness of Guam and Micronesia as a destination to potential customers in Mainland China and in Hong Kong.
Continental’s Hong Kong-Guam service began on Nov. 3, 1991. Also, to mark the anniversary, the airline is offering special anniversary CO Holidays packages. Continental has also partnered with travel agents to promote the anniversary offers in major newspapers, magazines, and Websites.
