The Saipan Mayor’s Office has recognized the Grace Christian Academy with a plaque of appreciation as the school commemorates its 20th anniversary on the island.

Saipan Mayor Juan B. Tudela presented the plaque to Pastor Raymond Kinsella, principal Faith dela Rosa, and four of the school’s top-notch students at his office on Tuesday. Tudela was supposed to hand over the plaque during GCA’s grand 20th anniversary celebration held two Sundays ago at the Saipan World Resort.

Tudela said his office applauds GCA for its 20 years of dedicated service to giving Christian education in the CNMI.

“The school’s track record has proven that it [GCA] has been an excellent school because, notably there is a good number of returning students, after having graduated from colleges and universities abroad, who are now either holding important positions in the government or the private sector,” the local executive said.

Kinsella provided brief remarks after the mayor, saying the school wouldn’t have lasted this long if it had not been backed by outstanding faculty members and administrators.

GCA, whose lease at its present location on Navy Hill will expire in the next three years, held a grand appreciation dinner to celebrate its 20 years of existence in the CNMI at Saipan World Resort on Oct. 22. It held a weeklong of anniversary activities in the school.
