Bowl For Kids Sake keglers earn top prizes

[B]AGANA, Guam[/B]—Participants in the 2nd Annual Bowl For Kids Sake fundraiser received top prizes for their contribution to the successful event held in September 2006.

Bowl For Kids Sake is a pledge-based fundraiser to benefit the local Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program. Bowl For Kids Sake 2006 was sponsored by The Citigroup Foundation.

Nearly 300 bowlers representing more than 25 companies and organizations participated in the event, which was a 50-percent increase over the 2005 event.

Lane Sponsors, including AK Toyota, Bank of Guam, Bank of Hawaii, Civille & Tang PLLC, Deloitte, Guahan Waste Management, Hertz, Horizon Lines, Nissan Guam, PayLess Markets, Pepsi, Personal Finance Center, Shell, Subway, and Tiffany & Company sent teams of four to five bowlers who helped raise funds through pledges and donations.

Grand prizes, donated by Freedom Air, Northwest Airlines, and DFS were awarded to winners in the Match Maker, Magic Maker and Team Captain’s raffles. Additionally, special recognition was given to Bank of Guam, Direct Effect, Deloitte, Untalan Middle School, and Citibank who were the Top 5 fundraising teams.

Vivian Tedtaotao was the overall pledge leader for the event, and winner of the Magic Maker raffle drawing sponsored by Northwest Airlines and DFS. Tedtaotao, who was a member of the Untalan Middle School team, received a Fendi handbag compliments of DFS.

Anthony Finona, team captain for one of four Nissan Guam teams, was the recipient of the Team Captain’s raffle prize compliments of Island Tinting.

Bowl For Kids Sake is the signature fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies throughout the country and accounts for approximately 20 percent of the local operating budget.
