Chiaki Nagumo from Tokyo, Japan, was given an Ambassador of Tourism Award by the Marianas Visitors Authority Thursday evening. Nagumo owns a production company and is very loyal to the CNMI. He has been in the CNMI over 60 times during the last six years.

In November, Nagumo will be bringing 70 persons from his production company—including talent and production crew—to shoot a film that will air in Tokyo, Japan in January 2007. There will be no cost to the CNMI for the film. While here, he will also conduct a dinner show at Nikko Hotel that will feature famous singer Goro Noguchi, who was married on Rota in 2001. Former Mayor Benjamin Manglona married them.

“Its very exciting to have an opportunity to have our islands featured in a movie,” said MVA managing director Perry Tenorio. “Continued exposure outside the CNMI will allow us to continue to grow our arrival numbers as potential visitors learn more about our islands.” [B][I](PR)
