NMIFA looking for a few good men
The United States Marine Corps isn’t the only organization looking for a few good men, as the fastest-growing athletic association in the CNMI is ready to offer local men the opportunity to play the most popular sport in the world.
After fostering a successful youth program and a growing women’s league, the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association is now looking to give men the same shot on the soccer pitch.
While the boys are already getting their kicks in the youth league, NMIFA officials are busy working to include all adult male players into their association during a men’s recreational league planned to begin in December.
No experience is necessary and anyone interested in learning the finer points of soccer are invited to participate and encouraged to join NMIFA’s first season of action.
The men put on a scrimmage match following NMIFA’s opening ceremonies last month and all of the coaches were expressed positive feedback about the new crop of referees and how well the league is being run this year.
