Making mobile calls economical for families
TAMUNING, Guam (PR)—With prices of gasoline soaring every other week and the prospect of costs of other goods and services rising from the ripple effect of high gas prices, wireless phone users can look forward to a silver lining from MPULSE, the GSM mobile phone subsidiary of GTA.
From today, MPULSE is introducing a smarter and more affordable way of going mobile with the launch of its new Family Plan. Starting at $69.95 a month with a minimum of two lines, up to a maximum of five lines, the Family Plan allows a family unlimited mobile to mobile calls to each other on the MPULSE GSM network, unlimited weekends and to share 800 minutes of airtime. The Family Plus Plan, at $99.95 a month, allots up to 1,200 shared minutes of airtime.
The MPULSE Family Plan can also be subscribed by other groups such as small enterprises like sole family proprietorships, a tightly knit group of friends or clubs, small non-profit organizations and other small size entities. “One of the attractive features about the Family Plan is the unlimited free calls on the same network. Whether you are calling members within your Family Plan or any MPULSE subscriber on our MPULSE network at anytime, the call will be rated as an Unlimited Mobile to Mobile call,” said Rob Smith, GTA Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Unlimited Mobile to Mobile only applies to MPULSE subscribers within our home network on Guam and will not apply when roaming off island,” adds Smith.
Andrew Gayle, Jr., MPULSE Vice President and General, also provided an update on developments for the second half of 2006. “We’ve improved our reception with the recent additions of new cell sites on Nimitz Hill, Oka Point in Tamuning and Machananao area in Dededo. We’re now planning on adding GSM network equipment to our existing cell sites at Ritidian Point, Merizo and Malojloj. We’re looking at erecting new towers in Yigo and Yona. We hope to have these new sites in place by the mid-third quarter of the year. The rest of the southern region of Guam will be the next phase which is towards end of the year to early 2007,” said Gayle. “We’re also currently developing our wireless access protocol (WAP) and other services such as international roaming,” he added.
