It’s clear that the “P” in Patriots stand for perfection as Thelma Mizer’s kids notched their 16th straight win on Saturday with a 20-2 masterpiece over As Matuis in continuation of the Saipan Little League Baseball Association action at the Oleai Sports Complex.

The Twins could do little to stop the advance of the P-men as Joe Palacios and company scored 19 runs in the first two innings before cooling off in the final stanzas. Palacios went 3-for-4 with a single, two doubles, and a run batted in, while catcher Tony Salas continued his hot streak with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate that yielded a double and a two-run homerun. Centerfielder Jonakin Camacho had no problem bringing home the bacon as he drove in five runs—three of which stomped on the five-sided goal on his inside-the-park round tripper.

Dual threat Timothy Rabago had his hand in the mix as well with five fans amidst a four-hit complete game on the mound and a 3-for-4 showing in the batter’s box.

The “P” also stands for practice as the pint sized Patriots have been making the most of their Tuesday and Thursday outings with head coach Manny Sablan to shore up their spot in the standings.

Tanapag Braves 6, Kagman 1-2-3 5

The Tanapag Braves improved to 10-7 on Saturday when they scalped the kids from Kagman 1-2-3 with a one-run win at Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Field, 6-5, in the battle of the Mobil friendly franchises.

Lamarc Iguel and Charito Kladikm spilt duty on the hill for the Braves to combine for a four-hitter through six innings, and Kladikm added punch at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance that accounted for half his team’s total with a pair of base knocks and a double.

Catcher Peter “Jeter” Lieto went 1-for-3 for the Red and White Braves with a single and two ribbies, while teammate Oliver Iguel went 1-for-2 with a single and a run scored to help hand the homesteaders their second loss in as many games.

Ol’Aces 12, Toyota Matrix 5

The Ol’Aces needed only four hits to scored a dozen runs as they mashed the Toyota Matrix 12-5 at the beachside ballpark on Saturday in front of fans, friend, and family at Tan Ge.

Four hits, a dozen runs, and a handful of errors were all the ingredients in the Aces’ 12-run cake in which seven walked batters eventually found their way home, and the double armed assault from Roky Matagolai and Ricco Peter ensured that win.

Matagolai shutout the Matrix through three innings of two-hit baseball from the mound and drove in a pair of runs from the batter’s box, while Peter allowed five runs in the final three to escape with the save.

Left fielder Sidney Nepaial drove in a run off of a single and drew a pair of bases on balls which came in handy on a day when hits came at a premium.

JUNIOR LEAGUE

Hustlers 25, Comets 0

There was bedlam at Francisco M. Palacios Baseball Field on Saturday as the Junior League Hustlers dished out more runs than a Mexican restaurant when they pasted the Comets in a 25-0 laugher by the lagoon.

Pitcher Justin Alexander one-hit the Comets though five innings to pick up the win and fanned eight along the way—including one to Brandon Chargualaf that provided a fitting end to the mercy-shortened contest.

The Hustlers were just as good at the plate as Tony Rogolifoi went 4-for-4 with a pair of singles, a triple, an inside-the-park homerun, and five runs batted in, while catcher Nokki Lizama went 3-for-3 with a pair of singles, a double, and two ribbies. First baseman J.P. also went perfect in three attempts, drove in two runs, and stole two bags.

SENIOR LEAGUE

Ol’Aces 14, Fielders 4
The Ol’ Aces went “Muhammad Ali” and pulled the Rope-a-Dope on the Fielders on Saturday as they turned a 1-0 sleeper into a 14-4 slaughter that was halted when the umpires threw in the towel midway through the fifth inning.

Pitcher Jesus Iguel allowed four runs off of six hits and fanned seven though five innings on the mound and went 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of triple, a single, drove in a run, and stole two bases for the Aces.

Iguel let his teammates play too, as shortstopper Shane Yamada went 3-for-4 with three singles and an RBI, and infielder Isaiah Wabol went 2-for-4 with two ribbies off of two base knocks.
