The Ying Yang Clan and “Chair Man” Max Kuan remained undefeated through seven games on Thursday by downing the Dirk Digglers in straight sets in a combined 33-8 beat down in continuation of the 7th Annual Spring Co-ed Four’s Beach Volleyball League at the Pacific Islands Club.

After putting together a winning streak, the Digglers slipped back to even at 4-4 in one of their most lopsided losses of the season as Kuan’s Clan continue to cruise through the competition by drubbing the Digglers 11-2 in the opener and following up with a 11-4 score in the second before delivering another 11-2 smack.

At 7-0, the Clan holds a narrow lead over second place Lite U Up (6-1) and the third place Sand In My Pants (6-1), but they are working well together and look to hang on the rest of the way.

The Digglers (4-4) look to get back on the winning path on Tuesday at 6:30pm against the Leapers, while Max and the Clan face Just Put It In (4-3) Tuesday night at 7:30pm.

Chafed Grundle 2, MHS Dolphin Splashers 1

Chafed Grundle continued to climb the charts at the PIC on Thursday night at they made quick work of the MHS Dolphin Splashers by winning the first two sets by a combined 22-7 before ceding the third in a forfeit, 11-0.

The Chafed chaps didn’t need their workaholic captain to lead them on the San Antonio sand as they strengthened their grip on fourth place by improving to 5-2 on the season, while the Splashers slipped for the seventh time on the south side of Saipan.

The Grundle return to the San Antonio sand next Tuesday, June 6, 5:30pm to face the Divers (2-5), while the Splashers (1-7) face Last Call (0-7) next Thursday, June 8, at 5:30pm.

Victoria’s Secret 3, MHS Dolphin Leapers 0

Victoria Riordan’s interlocking style of positional play helped her team school the students as Victoria’s Secret swept the MHS Dolphin Leapers in straight sets, 11-5, 11-3, and 11-1.

The one-sided victory propelled the Secret squad to seventh place in the 11-team league at 3-5 and has them on the bubble as the playoff brackets are taking shape. The Leapers had a chance to separate themselves from their classmates with the win but were unable to shake the Secret to suffer their fifth loss.

The Leapers look for their elusive third win on Tuesday against the Dirk Digglers (4-4) at 6:30pm, while Victoria’s Secret has until 8:30pm Thursday night to game-plan for Lite U Up (6-1).

Lite U Up 3, Last Call 0

With inspirational leader Evan Hunsberger still vacationing on the mainland, the Clubmate collaboration better known as Last Call lost for the seventh time in seven attempts at the hands of one of the best teams on Saipan as Lite U Up lit them up something fierce.

Dan Westphal’s sandy bunch of Lites performed well as they spanked last place Last Call by a combined score of 33-2. The game was as interesting as a bowl of cold oatmeal as Lite U Up took the opening set 11-0 before allowing Last Call to make a last stand in the final two sets with back-to-back 11-1 scores.

The Lites (6-1) need to remember how to play against difficult teams soon because they return to the PIC to face Sand In My Pants (6-1) on Tuesday at 8:30pm, while Last Call (0-7) has a chance to break into the win column on Thursday at 5:30pm when they try to school the student Splashers (1-7).
