The workshop “Delegating” will be presented at the Northern Marianas College Small Business Development Center, Building T, on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, from 9am to 12 noon, as part of its 9th Annual June Small Business Development Month in the CNMI. The workshop is open to the public and is sponsored jointly by the Commonwealth Development Authority and the SBDC.

The “Delegating” workshop will help managers master the skills needed to effectively assign work to others. By clearly communicating expectations and encouraging participation and involvement, managers can use delegating to develop team members’ skills and abilities. Throughout the workshop, managers will review video presentations and case studies, participate in- group discussions, practice new skills, and receive immediate feedback. Managers leave with implementation tools, troubleshooting guides and additional resources to help them apply the skills they have learned on the job.

The facilitator is Dr. Ken Shankweiler, psychologist and engineer, who is the owner of KIS Communications, a company that specializes in public speaking, workshops and seminars focusing on well-being and professional development. At present KIS Communications is preparing Executive Retreats for several government and private concerns in the United States and the Philippines.

Dr. Shankweiler is a former executive and has prepared this workshop for small business owners, entrepreneurs, college students, and the general public looking to improve their lives and career. The information presented is valuable both in a business sense as well as a personal and family sense.

Space is limited so call the SBDC at 235-1551 to reserve your seat. Registration begins at 8:30am and the workshop will begin at 9am. There is a $20 fee for this workshop and light refreshments will be served. (PR)
