Water outage in Kagman, Papago, San Vicente
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. is advising its customers that it will be repairing leaks in the Kagman water tank beginning June 5.
To determine the exact location and severity of leaks in the 1.0 million gallon water reservoir, the tank must be completely filled. Fourteen water wells will be used to completely infuse the tank and CUC estimates it will take 18 hours. During this time, water cannot be released to customers.
A water outage is scheduled on June 5 at 11:30am through the night; the water will be released the next morning, June 6, at 6:30am.
The CUC Water Division anticipates that Kagman residents will have nearly normal water services at 6:30am on June 6. However, several other customers in high elevations or those living in areas where it will take time to divert wells back to normal delivery will not receive water right away.
– Residents living above Cha Cha High School will not have water until pressure in the pipeline builds up, that may take two to three days.
– San Vicente customers will not have water until Wednesday, June 7.
– Papago residents will receive water as usual on Friday, June 9.
CUC has communicated with the Saipan Mayor’s Office to have water delivery for the customers in higher elevations; they need to call the Mayor’s Office directly to coordinate services.
Affected areas are the entire Kagman Homestead, residents along Kagman Road, to Isa Drive in Papago Reservoir, the Stanford Hotel area and throughout San Vicente (upper and lower) and south along Dandan road. (PR)
